Scott joined WE CARE in August 2025 as a Recovery Guide. A former beneficiary of WE CARE, he is a certified Peer Support Specialist trained by the Social Service Institute. With lived experience in recovery, Scott understands the challenges individuals face and is committed to walking alongside others on their journey.
Before joining the team, he served as a full-time volunteer at WE CARE, offering consistent support to individuals struggling with addiction. In his current role, he provides peer engagement, orientation, and guidance to both new and existing members. He also plays an active part in the day-to-day operations of the Drop-In Centre, supporting its safety, readiness, and welcoming atmosphere.
Scott holds diplomas in both IT and Social Service, combining technical skills with a strong grounding in community work. His lived experience, steady presence, and practical approach make him a trusted and valued member of the WE CARE team.
WE CARE has a support group called “Family and Friends Support Group”.

Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention is an open group to learn and practice mindfulness.
