Alvin Seng is a counsellor at WE CARE with specialisations in Sex, Porn and Love addictions and has been a counsellor since 2019.
He facilitates group therapy sessions including SMART and the NOCOSO (Non-Contact Sexual Offending) programme - a group therapy programme designed to help individuals with non-contact sexual offending compulsive behaviours.
Alvin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from James Cook University, and a Master of Counselling from Monash University. He also has a Diploma in Compulsive Sexual Behaviour and Sex Addiction.
He is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and is a Certified Self-Management Recovery Training (SMART) Facilitator, and is undergoing training in Relational Gestalt Therapy with GITLA.
He is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist and a Certified Substance Abuse Counsellor (APSAC).
Additionally, he is a Clinical Member with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) and a recognised member of The Association for the Treatment of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity (ATSAC).
Before embarking on his career at WE CARE, Alvin was a counsellor at the Singapore Anglican Community Services and a case manager at Boys’ Town. He has extensive experience in case management and crisis management, including reunification work with children/young-persons (CYP).
WE CARE has a support group called “Family and Friends Support Group”.
SMART stands for Self-Management & Recovery Training.
Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention is an open group to learn and practice mindfulness.
